International Pitch and Putt is an independent, competitive sport like golf with some differences. The maximum length of a hole for international competitions is 90 metres with a maximum total course length of 1,200 metres. Players may use a maximum of three golf clubs, from which one must be a putter. The game is often played on raised artificial teeing surfaces using a tee and it has its own handicap system, distinct from golf.

In the framework of the CSIT World Sports Games 2019 in Tortosa IPPA will organize a tournament to attract the sport and find many new players and new associated countries.
