Léon Goldstein passed away

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Léon Goldstein, who passed away on 3 January at the age of 89.

Léon Goldstein was a very close friend and great supporter of CSIT. For many years, he participated in numerous CSIT events as an AFSTB member and was also a recipient of the CSIT Golden Badge of Honour since 2011.

Léon started his sporting career in September 1980 as a table tennis player in the working sports club 'Sans Souci' in Etterbeek. As an official, he was soon integrated into the executive committee of the FROTTBF, the table tennis section of the Centrale des Fédérations Francophones du Sport Travailliste. In 1991, he was elected to the Executive Committee there. From 1995 to 2010 Léon was also treasurer and at many CSIT meetings. From 2001 to 2003, CSIT nominated him as director of the Technical Commission for Tennis.

As a former freelance photographer, he was known to also record and document all the meetings he attended. His humour and friendly nature were well known to all. With him, good humour was assured. We will miss Léon.

The CSIT family extends its sincere condolences to his family!
