More than 3000 athletes and officials from all over the world started their festive march in Parc Municipal Teodor Gonzalez on Tuesday night. Cheered on by hundreds of sports enthusiasts the colorful delegations from 31 nations and 51 CSIT member organizations crossed Pont de l‘Estat on their way to Estadio Jose Otero.
2500 spectators welcomed the parade in the stadium in the famous Catalonian way. More than 4.200 fans worldwide followed the opening ceremony via live-stream and all witnessed from this moment on a most spectacular ceremony: a parade of giant puppets, folklore orchesters and dancing groups, unbelievable acrobatic performances, and astonishing fireworks as an impressive finish.
Athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators will always keep this joyful ceremony in their memory and in their hearts.
