CSIT FUTSAL-Championship 2012 in Eilat
Hard way to success
The Football Technical Commission decided in the Sofia-meeting February 2010 in Sofia that Hapoel should host the next Futsal Championship and Mr. Avigdor Dagon, Hapoel, could confirm that it would be held in Eilat by the Red Sea in the south of Israel.

Futsal chairman Jens Nygaard congrats a successful participant
Nice accommodation and facilities
All the teams - except the HAPOEL teams - stayed at Hotel Siesta. It was a nice hotel with all inclusive. Although it was free drinks and meals the quality and range of food and drinks were excellent. The small hotel with the nice garden and pool gave a perfect frame for CSIT friendship and being together. The players from all the unions had some very nice days together and they shared often experiences. "You could feel the CSIT spirit all over!"
The sports hall - Begin Hall - had very good facilities for the Futsal championship and we got very fine service from the staff. The shuttle busses gave no transportation problems to and from the hotel.

FROS: The team from the new Belgian CSIT member union
A high level
The ten teams were divided in two pools with five teams. The unions had sent very good teams. The level of the tournament was high. For the first time it was not a SESI team who won the championship. Our new friends from ATOMSPORT Russia had a very talented team and after five hard games they had won the CSIT Futsal Championship 2012. In the final the beat HAPOEL 3 with 4-1. The third place went to Halley SESI Brazil.

Fairplay!
The final ranking was: 1. ATOMSPORT Russia, 2. HAPOEL 3 Israel, 3. Halley SESI Brazil, 4. HAPOEL 1 Israel, 5. DAI Denmark, 6. HAPOEL 2 Israel, 7. FROS Belgium, 8. ACSI Italy, 9. PASEK Cyprus and 10. BWFSH Bulgaria.
Wonderful ceremonies
The opening ceremony was held in The Begin Hall in the presence of the mayor of Eilat, Mr. Meir Itzhak Halevi. He warmly welcomed all the delegations. As the chairman of CSIT Football TC I wished the unions success and fair play in the spirit of sport for workers, represented by CSIT. The manager of the competition, Mr. Mikel Weismann, welcomed all on behalf of the HAPOEL Sport Association. It was a solemn opening ceremony with all the participating unions national anthems and the parade with national flags and name of the union and country. A great experience!

Friendship & fun combined with the famous "CSIT Spirit"!
The closing ceremony took place in an Israeli village! The hotel with restaurant and garden was changed into an Israeli village with national meals and folklore. It was also the place to give the cups to the best ranked teams and medals to all the participants. Live music and dance, talk and laughter continued into the night. Everybody had great fun.
But a little disappointing was that the three HAPOEL teams didn't turn up, just playing the games and not participating in any social activities, this is definitely not the CSIT way. We have higher goals for our championships as "sports and friendship". The silver cup was given to Mr. Jacob Malka who was in charge of the sports facilities in the municipality of Eilat! Thanks to organizer HAPOEL and the Unions
It was a great championship and a great CSIT experience to be together with all the CSIT friends in Eilat. Thanks to HAPOEL for doing a very good and big job - and thanks to all the unions who came to Eilat and made the CSIT Futsal Championship 2012 possible.
I am looking forward to see you all to the next Football and Futsal Championships in Rio de Janeiro in August 2013.
